about

A booming reverb soaked floor tom beat that keeps the song thudding alongside haunting and rickety piano chords provides the perfect backdrop for the heavily sentimental ballad of a man at war writing his last letter to his loyal wife a million miles away. With the screaming sounds of a Hammond organ giving texture to the song, it sounds like a band playing for their lives in a war torn cathedral.

lyrics

Will you be right there waiting when I come when all here’s done?
Will you be right there waiting when I come when all here’s done?
I hear your voice whisper through the din of broken Berlin
I taste your kiss melting on my skin I won’t give in
I wrote you all these years a million miles away
I wrote you all these years just so I could say…

Will you be right there waiting when I come when all here’s done?
Will you be right there waiting when I come when all here’s done?
I smell the rain stroking hills outside the London lights
I see your eyes smiling next to mine, as we held tight
I wrote you all these years a million miles away
I wrote you all these years just so I could say
Cradle those memories I’m coming home to you

Dear Lillian my love,
These days drag on but I guess I’m doing fine
How are you? How’s Kelly’s kids? And what is baby Tye’s new trick?
It’s the same old, same old here
Don’t know when Tommies will arrive
It’s the same old, same old here
I’m lucky just to be alive…

about

Rogues on the Sea Perth, Australia

Compelled to create music that they wanted to hear that was not being made, piano driven alternative rock band Rogues on the Sea's self titled debut album is alluringly dark and executed with an earthly grace, adventurous enough to capture even the wildest imaginations, yet melodically mature enough not to alienate more familiar musical palates. ... more
